Television Presenter, Corporate Facilitator with a wealth of experience & Awards Host
Angela is a very bright and personable presenter who is a specialist in IT with a First Class Honours Degree in Systems Analysis and Accountancy; she is also a member of MENSA. She left University with a defined career plan to be a systems analyst [Designer of computer systems]. She started out with IBM then moved onto a fast paced software house called SD-Scicon, followed by British Gas. By the age of 25yrs Angela was the youngest ever female manager at British Gas. She was then selected by them to tour the Country presenting the IEE's prestigious Faraday Lecture, visiting 18 venues including The Barbican. In total she delivered the lecture 65 times with up to 3000 people in each audience, plus a world wide audience via satellite links. This culminated with her being offered a presenting job for the BBC.
Her TV Credits include:
'It'll never work?' [BBC 1]. This was a quirky science-comedy programme ranging from the serious to the ridiculous which started as a one off series but was still going six years later, pulling in an audience of up to 4.5million. It won a BAFTA and two RTS wards and two Prix Jeunesse plus awards in Australia & Bratislava. The Physical World- an Open University production for BBC's 'Learning Zone'. 'Science Fix' [BBC Knowledge]. A 24 part series exploring 'everything you ever wanted to know about science but were afraid to ask'. 'The Fragile Planet' [Channel 5] a ten part ecology series made by Anglia TV.
Angela also has extensive experience with the medium of Radio, including:
'The Network' [BBC Radio 4 A set of six shows per series and there being six series in total. A techno-cultural programme based predominantly around IT looking at how the internet affects our culture and how our culture affects the internet. 'Ground Control' [BBC Radio 4] a programme that followed large engineering projects from start to finish. 'The Invention of Baby' [BBC Radio4] a documentary to mark the 50th Anniversary of programmable computers. 'The Fountain of Youth' [Radio 5 Live] exploring the measures some people will go to, to slow, halt or reverse the aging process and 'The Acid Test' [BBC Radio 5 Live] a weekly magazine programme looking at the latest in the world of science and technology.
Angela also works extensively for the corporate market including Conference Facilitating, Live Events, Corporate and Training videos, demonstrations and internet material.
